Sylvia and Donald met and were married while attending West Georgia College. Upon graduating Sylvia taught school before deciding to attend Mercer Law School where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1985. While serving as Magistrate Judge Sylvia maintained a busy Real Estate and Probate practice and handled countless adoptions. Sylvia served many years on the Board of Directors of Gatewood Schools and was its first female chairperson. Sylvia and Donald had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary before her sudden and untimely death in August of 2006. Her reputation, professionalism and love for her family and community will always be felt here.
